RACHEL THOMPSON
CPM, LM
Rachel first began working with the South Coast Midwifery family in 2010 when her journey to birth work first began. Her passion for midwifery was sparked after the birth of her first son in 2010 when she experienced a cascade of interventions in the hospital that led to cesarean birth. She did doula training after his birth and learned more about the pathways to midwifery. Her second son was born at a birth center with a CPM in 2013!
After staying home a few years to raise her babies, she started her midwifery apprenticeship and schooling in 2016. Rachel has worked with families in the out-of-hospital setting for many years, and it is her true passion.
Fun fact: Midwife Rachel is a gym rat that loves lifting heavy weights every day, even when sleep-deprived from catching babies!
