RN, CNM
Although Nicole didn’t necessarily always know which path in health care she would take, her summoning to birth work was clear from early on. While volunteering at a rural birth center in the Philippines, she witnessed the incredible impact of midwifery care and caught her first of many babies. Seeing mamas deliver unmedicated, naturally, and safely without intervention fueled her passion for out-of-hospital-birth. At age 13, Nicole jokingly promised peers that she would one day deliver their babies in the bathtub, and at age 30 she became a certified water birth provider. She views midwifery as a unique way to empower women and families, and is continually amazed at the beauty, power, and strength of the female body and its ability to bring forth life.
Nicole earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Biola University in 2014. Before practicing as a Certified Nurse-Midwife, she worked as a labor and delivery registered nurse in the hospital setting and received a certification in obstetrical nursing. In 2020, Nicole earned her Master of Science in Nurse-Midwifery from Bethel University. Nicole has served families in all settings; the hospital, birth center, and at home. Her love for travel and midwifery care has taken her around the world, most recently to Tanzania where she was able to volunteer at a busy African hospital with extremely limited medical resources.
She continually feels humbled and fortunate to walk with women across the lifespan, and sees each client encounter as a sacred space. Her goal is to provide honest, nonjudgmental, evidence-based, inclusive, warm, culturally sensitive, and safe care. She is an avid supporter of low intervention birth, informed decision making, family planning, water birth, and creating unique positive family birth experiences.
Nicole is a proud Auntie and Dog mama to a 3 pound Yorkshire terrier named Thumper. In her spare time, she enjoys browsing the aisles of Target, pro caffeinating, people watching, beach hopping, reading, and globetrotting.
