One Day Labor Workshop
Learn everything you need to know about laboring your baby, naturally, as well as postpartum care, taught by Giselle Baumet, Childbirth Educator, Breathework & Hypnotherapy Facilitator, and “homebirthing” Mother of Four.
This is a custom, one-of-a-kind class for South Coast Midwifery client’s only! Registration for the Newborn Care and Breastfeeding classes are taken in additional to this class.
What’s Included in the One Day Labor Intensive Workshop:
• Understanding the Labor Process
You will get a clear understanding of what happens in your body during labor and how to create an environment of support that helps you feel at peace and calm during the labor process.
• Releasing Fears in Pregnancy, Birth, and Postpartum
Research shows that fears can be a deterrent for a good labor experience. And with the high rates of mental disorders in pregnancy and postpartum, I believe that addressing fears and finding ways to reduce them is one of the most important things we can do in pregnancy and before labor.
• Natural Birth Coping Skills
Your birth partner is a source of comfort and support to you in labor. You and your birth partner will learn hands-on coping skills and practice these in class.
• Breathing and Visualization in Labor
Your breath is one of the most powerful tools you have in labor. You will learn how to breathe in your mindful birth. You’ll also learn guided visualization and hypnosis techniques that you can use in childbirth. And you’ll connect to the mind, body, spirit aspects of childbirth and postpartum.
• Holistic Postpartum Care
The first 6 weeks after birth are precious healing time and resetting as a mother. You will learn what to expect during postpartum. Your birth partner will learn how to care for you and nurture you during the postpartum period, so you can feel more rested, heal faster, and have good emotional wellness.
